And the way that this is going this year, if I get this wrong, I'm going to have about 30 people tell me.
So we'll know.
Basically, a paper transaction is that.
Say a player is on the NHL roster and you want to send them down to the minor leagues, maybe for a day or something to save cap room.
And either your team is far away from the AHL team or you're just like, you know what, you're only going to be sent down for a day so you don't actually have to go.
The NHL wanted to stop that.
if you're going to send people down and save money on the cap, you actually have to make them go.
So that's why this happens.
And basically, if you're sent down and you don't have to clear waivers or they're within your contractual rights to send you down, like you don't have a no-move clause,
You can't say no.
You know, there's a risk if you're waiver eligible, somebody can claim you, but it's not like you can say no.
And, you know, teams will do it from time to time.
If they're tight to the cap to save cap rooms, they can bank more space.
And why would the if you're asking why would the Players Association agree to that?
I guess in the overall grand scheme of things, it's like we talked about the other day about limiting the preseason games to two per veteran.
Not enough people are going to argue against it or not enough people care about it that it becomes a big thing to stop.
And I think that's what it is on the grand scheme of things that the players as a whole are going to worry about.
That's probably a lower priority, but the NHL wanted to make it clear that if you get sent down,
They can't just say, okay, like say, for example, you're in Edmonton, your American Hockey League team is in Bakersfield.
Edmonton can't just say, you know what, just stay here.
