And so we left Edmonton that day for Phoenix and and did the interview on Wednesday.

I I don't want to say too much about the conversations behind the scenes between ourselves and the family, but you know, they made it very clear that if they were going to consent to an interview, they didn't Kyle want it to be all about what happened.
Um, you know, we did say, you know, we had to ask them a question about it, what they knew, and and that was the one question you saw in the interview.
We we couldn't not do that.
that but their real goal was right now everybody knows their beloved son, uh brother, uh boyfriend and friend Matthew.

And they said there's a whole other
novel to his life and they wanted everybody to know it.
And um, you know, I I think that all of us at Sportsnet are um
just honored that they would ask us to help and uh I hope we I hope they feel we did them justice.
Um, you know, the the the family is incredible.
They are incredible people.
I think anybody out there recognizes how hard it is to do that interview.
And, you know, one of the kind of funny stories about doing it is that we booked a suite at the hotel they're staying at in Arizona.
And so that room obviously.
Obviously, where John and Christina are sitting is the sitting room.
