My suitcase packed, my makeup on, with my handheld fan ready and fully charged, I started my journey.
The tube was fairly quiet, with many people wisely avoiding public transport if they could help it.
I sat down, face firmly in my handheld fan, when I noticed a man standing by the doors with a professional-looking camera, taking photos of seemingly random things in the carriage.
I arrived at Paddington, which was absolute chaos, got myself on a train and heaved a sigh of relief when the aircon hit me.
I decided to check my phone and clicked on my Facebook app out of habit.
It was then that I saw the most bizarre sight.
The first post to come up on my feed was one from the BBC News' official page.
It was a story about the record-breaking heatwave.
And my face, looking utterly miserable, was staring back at me.
I couldn't understand.
I thought I must be hallucinating.
The heatstroke had finally got to me.
But no matter how much I blinked, my face was still there.
I then went on to Instagram and went on to the BBC News page and my face was also on their story.
It turns out that the man with the camera on the tube had discreetly taken my photo and it was now being used by BBC News for the latest story in the UK heatwave.
In other words, I was now the face of the UK heatwave.
I was initially outraged as the photographer hadn't asked my permission and planned to sue the BBC for the biggest sum I could think of, £10 million sterling.
Yeah.
However, seeing as all this started with my inability to purchase tickets for the Royal Albert Hall show and was the catalyst to my misery, I was settled for a shout-out on my favourite podcast.
