And people have have, you know,

made attempts to sort of reformulate presentism in relativistic ways.

Uh, but you know, I think all of them feel a bit ad hoc and not very compelling to me.

Um so certainly in the context of what we know about physics now, eternalism seems to me much more viable.

Um that's well the obvious ones are the sort of uh uh the primitive ontology approaches, so the the Bohmian approach and the spontaneous collapse approach.

You know, I wouldn't say these approaches fail.

Uh what I'd say is that at present we don't know how to reproduce the whole of quantum field theory in these kinds of approaches.

Uh and there are reasons to think we may never be able to do that or that it's it's very difficult to do that in the context of this particular kind of view.

Um so you know, never say never, but right now I'm not sure the prospects for uh expanding those to cover.

all of quantum theory look very good and, you know, until we can show that that can be done, that's a sort of str compelling reason to be worried about those approaches.

Uh research wise, uh so I have been thinking about um

One thing I've been thinking about is a a problem in uh relational quantum mechanics.

Uh so there's this worry uh relational quantum mechanics is committed to the view that all physical systems can in some sense count as observers.

Yeah, they can have quantum states defined relative to them.

Uh there's a worry brought up uh by Kessler Bruckner that uh it doesn't make sense to say something like a qubit is an observer because there's no way to get a well

defined basis in which a qubit could make an observation.

So you just couldn't get a well-defined

observed value out of an interaction involving a qubit.

Um so I think I think the w I think you know that's he's right about that as an objection.
