He's probably the poshest person I've ever had on this podcast.
And given that Ray is a terrible social climber, I knew he'd be all over Alfie like a cheap suit, demanding to swap pedigrees.
Alfie's also one of the loveliest people I've ever had on this podcast.
He's so easy to chat to and funny and fabulously self-effacing, as you'll hear.
And we had the nicest chat about pretty much everything from Alfie's childhood growing up in London, as the grandson of a marquis, to his school days at Eton, and how, after doing an economics degree, he decided to pivot into stand-up.
And I, for one, am very grateful he did, because the man is genuinely hilarious.
