And I really loved my regulars.

And I really loved getting to know them and getting to know about what they did and where they came from.

And since Columbus has such a deep franchise bench here, it just so happened that a few of my regulars worked for Wendy's.

I worked with the head of research and development for Wendy's, which was super fun.

And then at the tail end of my time behind bars.

I got to know the president of Wendy's International, Daryl Van Lichten.

We just struck up a real good friendship.

I really enjoyed him.

And even after I left my last bartending job, I stayed in touch because you protect those relationships above all else.

You just never know when you might need to make a phone call or there's something you can help with or that they could help you with.

And

And so we had just stayed in touch.

I spent about three years working in startup technology.

Again, it was a regular of mine at the bar who offered me an opportunity to work for a tech startup.

So I worked as a Shopify Plus partner in a little tech startup for a few years.

And then sure enough, three years later, I was looking for a new opportunity.

I called Daryl Van Lichten.

He had just bought a small restaurant group and was

Looking for an operator.

So I got to literally go to work at the hand of a couple of masters, Daryl, who had spent so much time at Wendy's, and then John May, whose family owned Arby's and he was the CEO of Arby's for a number of years.
