My mom started her career as a speech and mass media communications teacher in a school district in Wisconsin.
She taught speech and journalism for a number of years before my brother and I were born.
And then
And then when my brother was born first, she stayed at home.
And then when I was maybe in kindergarten or first grade, she started working for our local Methodist church as a Christian education director.
And I tell you what she built at that church is nothing short of miraculous.
She and Pastor Don, who was the pastor there, built an amazing congregation and she built a second.
To non-Christian education program.
And one of the components of that was that all of the children, all of the students, were going to participate in the church community in a variety of ways.
And when we were participating in the church service, we were going to do so professionally and with polish and with rehearsal.
And so we, we all, all of us kids that went through Wesley United Methodist got a really
incredible education in public speaking and kind of performance.
And that really has stuck with me through everything that I've done.
And it it's a compliment that I get here and there when I've done different things.
And I always have to go back and send a little thank you back to my mom because this kind of all comes from her.
Yeah.
I just I have a lot to thank her for and and that's where it comes from.
Oh yeah.
So the mixology, like I said, I had kind of bartended my way through college and and bartending in Iowa was really just a lot of draft beer.
But I'll still never forget the first time a person ordered from me a seven and seven and I had no idea what it was, but I said sure.
