I've been asked this question so many times.

Like every time I watch that movie, she breaks my heart, she makes me cry.

Like Tom also, there's a couple of scenes where Tom breaks my heart and makes me cry.

I couldn't quantify what this is, but with Emily, the thing that I love is that she plays Poppy in this way that's really warm and charming.

And like, even when she's being like a little bit of a dick, it's like, you still love her and root for her, you know?

And I think that she could so easily be really annoying, that character.

Yes.

I think like, I mean, not everyone loves, loves her.

Yes.

Or made her like a manic pixie dream girl, which was like my fear too.

Like throughout the whole process, I was like, we have to keep her grounded.

We have to keep her rooted.

Reading all the drafts being like, she isn't just like, you know, it's not as simple as like, she just doesn't want to be tied down.

It's she's afraid.
