We usually face some kind of like legislative gridlock and then maybe nothing happens.
And people seem to forget that we tried to do this like 50 years ago during the Nixon administration.
They gave it a try for a year and people got so upset about permanent daylight savings that they abandoned the effort.
Right.
Well, the clear villain in the United States right now is a parasite called cyclospora.
Every summer, this parasite kind of shows up and causes cyclosporiasis.
I tried.
It's an intestinal illness caused by this parasite and that's transmitted through food or water, typically like fresh fruits or vegetables.
We're seeing like a record number of cases right now, which has led to, in my view, unscientific tally of record number of headlines in the U.S.
using the word diarrhea to the point where Merriam-Webster's tweeted how to spell it to help people, I guess.
Yeah, so it's not good.
Everyone's kind of freaking out.
There's a lot of talk of like, I'm never eating salad again, you know.
Yes, I think what we're watching, you know, in the Axios business team is sort of like sales at fast food.
Taco Bell, for example, said it would stop using lettuce, things like that.
You know, there are all these kinds of like fast, casual salad places, like how's their business going?
We're keeping an eye on that.
All of that.
One good thing is that this isn't life threatening.
It just causes a lot of sickness and unpleasantness.
