On December 18th, 2018, Mike Levengood was charged with rape.
The prosecutors spent the next year building the case against him.
They were going to a jury trial and the state wanted a conviction.
So they ran toxicology, consulted with experts, combed through online chats, and analyzed every moment of the dozens of videos they were able to track down.
In the end, they gathered over 30 videos Mike had filmed without Saskia's consent.

Mike was charged with 31 counts of illegal surveillance.

But if the jury questioned Saskia's story, Mike could walk free.
For Ashley Inderfurth, the lead prosecutor on the case, it was nerve-wracking.
This isn't a scenario where it's a 50-50 and we got to get it to 51%.
