Oh, you mean you weren't around in 1996.

Well, you still might remember it.

So the case is Kristen Smart, who was a 19-year-old college freshman at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Now, you know that school because your niece and nephew both went there and graduated from there.

Also referred to as slow and they're the Mustangs.

Oh, that's right.

You went there, huh?

Yeah, a few years ago when my niece first started going to Cal Poly.

And I remembered the Kristen Smart case and I remembered that she was in the dorm called Mirror Hall.

And so I made sure to check it out, to take a little look at it while I was on campus.

Okay.

Kristen Smart disappeared on Memorial Day weekend in 1996.

She was last seen by Cal Poly student Paul Flores, who walked her home that night from a college party.

After relentless searching, her body has never been discovered, even though we'll talk about in a little bit.
