But I guess, you know, as Shakespeare said it, your job is to hold a mirror up to nature.
And, you know, you just try and tell stories as truthfully as you can and you go to places that you need to to do that.

I'd like to take credit for that path, but I get less and less sure of my kind of moral rectitude as I get older.
You do something that gets noticed in that way early on.
And there are still to this day, I meet people, filmmakers who say,
Breaking the Waves is the reason I'm a director.
And that has a currency that's just lasted.
It's kept me in knickers, you know, for a very long time.
