You actually spoke to people in different parts of the country and the picture isn't uniform across England, is it?

Some people you spoke to said the job situation was a bit better this year compared with last year, didn't they?

Have those two reimbursement schemes helped the job situation at all?

I mean, it doesn't really sound like it from what you're saying there.

Nick, this is interesting, isn't it?

Because you wrote something this week about the explosion of portfolio working and this is definitely a trend we've seen over the last decade, with more and more GPs having more than one role.

In part, you know, it's because working full time in general practice has become so much more challenging and demanding and

you know, part time hours in general practice are often the equivalent of a full time job in any other sector.

But it's also because GPs want to spend some of their week doing, you know, other things, be it teaching, training, appraisals, working in a hospital, specialty, all sorts of things.

But some of what Kimberley has been talking about suggests that newly qualified GPs may be being forced into this way of working even if they don't necessarily want it.

So rather than it being a choice, it's just actually something that becomes a necessity if you want to get enough work.

That's interesting.
