So I think this was something that really the government was really keen to get into the GP contract this year. matched

But this latest guidance from the BMA is basically warning practices to really look carefully that at the figures. matched

And if they decide that it's not financially viable for them, then the BMA says that they shouldn't overtly attempt to chase the points for that indicator. matched

And I guess what that means is that obviously GPs will see patients if they need to be seen and come in and prescribe for patients, but they wouldn't necessarily be actively calling and contacting those patients and trying to. matched

hit those high percentages that they would need to to get the Quoff money. matched

Across both of those obesity targets, that's 18 points in total on offer. matched

And that's worth a maximum of £4,103 and 10p for an average practice, but obviously some variation on that depending on practice size and and prevalence. matched

But it's not very much money really, given the additional work it will involve. matched

So on that point, I mean how much work is actually involved? matched

Well, it's a lot. matched

The NHS is in the midst of a three year initial rollout of terzepatite. matched

Back in December twenty twenty four, NICE recommended that it should be available to everyone with a BMI of over thirty-five and at least one weight related comorbidity. matched

And that is a huge number of people. matched

You know, if that had happened straight away, it would cover three point four million people. matched

That would basically mean be impossible for the NHS to have done initially. matched

So NHS England applied to NICE for a funding variation to introduce a phase rollout. matched

So we're just about at the start of the second year of a three-year rollout. matched

And by the end of those three years, about two hundred and twenty thousand people will be eligible for the jabs on the NHS. matched
