A spokesperson for the Sheriff's Department said Tuesday night that the, quote, subject was detained during a traffic stop south of Tucson.

The news comes hours after investigators had their first big break in the case.

It's unclear whether the person detained is the person who appears in that footage.

Authorities have yet to name any suspects.
