I'm saying this to like give you a sense of peace.
My God, this is easy, okay?
It's all about the tone you use when you shoot down a plan.
It's that simple, okay?
People get weird, people get butthurt when you're like, oh man, I can't today, sorry.
No punctuation, no emoji, no reassurance, no nothing.
Just straight to the point rejection.
That's when people start to get a vibe and they're like, wait, is this person mad at me?
Does this person not like hanging out with me?
Does this person not like us?
Like, what's the issue?
That's when things go wrong is when the tone is wrong.
But a little bit of extra effort when it comes to communication can go so far.
So I'll give you an example.
Let's say all of your friends are going to a carnival and the group chat gets stirring and somebody's like, hey, I'm going to the carnival tonight.
Do you all want to come?
Like, let's all go.
Everyone says, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
And you're like, I can't do this tonight.
Okay.
