And how do I take responsibility for the things that I want?
And hiding behind sort of like quiet ambition or performative purpose doesn't help women at all.
Right.
It's like you have to put money and your ambition and your sense of what you want right at the middle of your plans.
You can't like pretend around it.
And so I'm just trying to say, like, there is a way to do this stuff.
And there are so many rules that exist in the culture that don't serve women.
And so this book is here to actually dismantle the things that are around the rules that are there
that don't work for women anymore.
And that's really why I wrote it because I was like, there is just a bunch of stuff that we have default done and that happens to us and we don't need it anymore.
It's not working.
A million percent.
And it works both ways, right?
Because you also can't be a people pleaser and a leader, right?
So you need to get comfortable making other people feel discomfort because otherwise you won't get what you want.
If you're going round and you're like, and here's the thing that I want women to also understand, two things can be true at once.
You can be deeply empathetic
and be somebody that's giving honest feedback.
You don't need to be an arsehole, right?
Do you know what I mean?
