And I also then was a bit scared of the reaction from people.
Not so much... I mean, yes, a female voice, whether that would be accepted, but...
My actual voice, I've had to have a lot of voice training over the years and really work on my voice.
Back when I was young at Fox, I had a voice coach and in the first two years I was there, I was allowed to write all of the packages, cut them, but I wasn't allowed to voice them.
Why?
Well, the feedback was that I was a sounded young and really high pitch, which I probably did at the time.
So I actually, funnily enough, on my Dropbox...
I was going back recently because it was full.
I had to delete some stuff and I had some packages from 12 years ago and I did sound really young.
So I think it did need work and it worked out really well for me in the long run that I had to work harder for it.
And I know I had colleagues that had the most beautiful, deep voices and I would think, oh, why can't my voice be like that?
So I never had the most naturally...
I guess, broadcast voice as the bosses would want.
So I had to work hard at it.
So I think that was always in the back of my mind because I always backed my work ethic, my knowledge of the game.
But if there was anything that was to hold me back, it would be my voice.
And calling has to go to certain levels that you don't get to with just sideline and hosting.
So...
yeah, I was maybe scared of the reaction.
Well, what if people don't like the sound of my voice?
