So there's basically planning and regulatory hurdles have consistently delayed the delivery of critical infrastructure.

And we need strong government to cut through those and deliver things.

So just to give an example, like Ishka Aaron, for any of their projects, they gave us a briefing in the chamber a few weeks ago.

And they outlined that for any of their projects, key projects like the Greater Dublin Drainage Scheme, they have to go through typically 12 layers of local authority and regulatory approvals.

And those approvals typically have to be done consecutively as opposed to in parallel.

Which is nonsense.

Which is absolute nonsense.

So if you take a specific example, the Greater Dublin Drainage Scheme, which is really a critical piece of infrastructure, the planning for that went in in 2018.

Now, there's a very disappointing... And now there's a judicial review.

There's a judicial review.

But here we are seven years later, it's a critical piece of infrastructure and they haven't been able to commence.

The judicial review piece, in fairness, the government are looking to address that and hopefully they will move fast to implement changes.

But like...

You can't have small, repetitive objections stifling the national interest.

It's those sort of blockages that really concern us.

Yes, in short, these riots, they really are terrible and very disturbing.

But the city itself, the city itself,

Post the riots a couple of years ago, which really shocked everybody, there has been an increase in policing and there have been efforts to improve things, but there's a long way to go.

Like you mentioned in the introduction there, the Dublin Task Force, there's a lot of good measures there to improving the look and feel of our city.
