And so it was a short drive per se.

The day of that vote, we were kind of... As a fiscal conservative, someone who really cares about the debt and the deficit, I was worried about...
how we might impact that with extending these tax cuts.
And so I was fighting for every kind of pay-forward that I could, cost-cutting measures that I could get in order to pay for these tax cuts.
So it was a long day of negotiations.
I mean, a long, long day, to the point where we were negotiating until 2 a.m.
Whoa.
And...
To this day, Trump calls our group like the 3 a.m.
caucus.
Not exactly in a lovingly way.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But at the end of the day, look, I didn't go up there to make everybody in D.C.
happy.
