the Rolling Stones for example they like they put out a fucking album in 2026 you know who doesn't want new music from fucking Mick Jagger in 2026 anybody but Mick Jagger right but but he I imagine like thinks of himself as the explorer as the person like trying to do something new trying to reinvent 60s rock in you know 50 fucking years later um

So I don't necessarily know that you have to be on your own stepping out into the abyss.

Yes, I have said on this podcast before that I think my best work has often come from moments of deep self-reflection.

However, I am me, and we work in a medium that is relatively isolated.

We work as individual furniture makers, and we collaborate because we seek that out, but that's not the norm in woodworking.

Versus music, to play the upright bass by itself and to be exceptional at it is a rare, rare fucking talent.
