um 403 based upon the speed of the opener i didn't understand it i thought that was like whoa why like you could have jumped 20 you know and then just seeing how things went from there instead of uh
I think 31 or 30.5 kilos, something like that.
And yeah, once he missed that, I knew he had put himself in a spot where everybody else, like to Matt's point earlier, everyone knows what you got.
Your cards are on the table and then they can make the moves that were made.
And he was not on the podium when he probably could have totaled somewhere around 970 and been out of reach potentially of the other two gentlemen who ended up on the platform.
So, yeah.
And the other thing about Ashton, the only thing I would add is, yeah, he came out for that opener deadlift and
It was a bit of a struggle when he went to his second and he had to switch it.
I think he switched from his stance to another one, which he can do to try to get it and almost got it.
But it seemed like these tremendous squats that he's doing are taking a pretty significant toll on his back.
So I think I'm just wondering as a coach, like, oh, what's the strategy we're going to do here?
Because if you can only pick one or the other and the bench is a bit hampered and behind,
you're kind of in a, in a rough situation and you have to know like how much you push and pull on, on one versus the other.
So, but you know, Ashton is a phenomenal athlete and he's got a great coach.
So I'm sure they will be able to put together a game plan to get there.
But I, I think what's cool about Ashton is that if you could wave a magic wand and give him his top end non-injured bench and his top end squat and his top end deadlift, well, now we've actually got someone who is able to threaten the,
Maybe even Rondell Hunt, dare I say, or at least keep him honest, which is which is pretty impressive.
So I think his fifth place is not a reflection of his capability.
And this is also the new class he's building into.
He does look like.
