The Department of Homeland Security could run on, you know, sort of a mini shutdown for a while.
ICE agents, Border Patrol will continue to be paid from the one big, beautiful tax bill money.
But, you know, you would see, you know, FEMA workers and TSA workers missing a paycheck that's due on February 17th.
So this is going to be unpleasant for those individuals.
Democrats have a long list of demands, including judicial warrants and taking masks off that Republicans are really not willing to entertain.
And it's just very hard.
The House would have to pass this very early next week for the Senate in order to take it up and get it done by February 13th.
I don't see that happening.
So Schumer right now is saying split five of this six part package apart.
This would fund everything from the State Department, Treasury, Small Business Administration and pass that and then deal with DHS separately.
But Republicans are resisting that, saying there's really no time and consent.
You really need unanimous consent in the Senate to do any of this.
So we're predicting a likely government shutdown.
