Um, and that is why often during ECT therapy, even if people
people are going home in between each session and are not hospitalized, they might have restrictions on things like driving.
They might be um advised not to make big life decisions.
They probably aren't able to work and things like that.
But this type of anterograde amnesia, the difficulty forming new memories, it almost always resolves within a few weeks of completing the course of therapy.
Okay.
So people are usually able to start forming new memories again after they have finished a course of ECT.
The bigger concern for most people is retrograde amnesia.
This is the loss of memories of things that happened before the ECT procedure.
It's usually cited as more recent events.
So like the last few weeks or months tend to be the most affected.

And then sure enough, she didn't remember him after he went in and she was like, Oh, who are you?
