He never went on trial.

The only two who went on trial were Michael Scott and Robert Springsteen because they were the only ones who had quote unquote confessed.

There was no other evidence.

And yet Maurice spent more than three years in prison.

Is that correct?

Scott was given life in prison.

In 2003, then Maurice is finally released.

And he's released, according to the DA, who's still DA at that point, Ronnie Earl.

And he says there isn't enough evidence to, quote, convict him right now.

So it wasn't really over, even though he's released, was it?
