These were very, very important trust-building kinds of activities.

an agreement actually look like, assuming one is reached at all.

I think one should not confuse the Memorandum of Understanding with having been an Iran nuclear agreement.

It was really an opening the Strait of Hormuz agreement, sort of.

But especially in negotiating with the Iranians, an agreement with them has to be much more, let's say, detailed,

than is generally the case in diplomatic agreements.

Ambiguity is not the friend of this agreement.

And my concern is that if an agreement is reached,

It will have the ambiguities, certainly on the technical side, that will complicate implementation enormously and I think probably sink the agreement in pretty short order.

So I think that's where the negotiators really do need to use their teams effectively and have a more complex agreement than would be their norm.
