Well, among the crowd, the answer I heard most was that he is not Orban, that he is simply something new.
He's a center-right politician, as we know, although we don't know that much.

But he's not considered a progressive.
And yet there were lots of progressive liberal voters out there this evening simply relieved that he is change.
He represents change.
He is not Orban.
But others were also quite realistic and quite aware that Madhya has a huge task on his hands.
And I think we should be watching capitals across the world, from Brussels to Washington to Moscow, to see what the reactions there are.

Domestically, this election is about the economy, which is stagnant.
Inflation is high and ordinary Hungarians are really struggling to make ends meet while they watch Viktor Orban, the prime minister, and his inner circle appear to get visibly richer.
And discontent about this apparent disparity is something that Orban's challenger, Peter Magyar, has seized upon.
As Prime Minister Viktor Orban seeks a fifth consecutive term, he faces an unprecedented challenge from a former ally, 45-year-old Peter Magyar and his opposition TISA party.
Magyar is comfortably leading many of the polls on a campaign promise to root out the corruption and cronyism he says is rife within Orban's Fidesz party.
Orbán, who has the public endorsement of President Donald Trump, has accused Medea of employing the help of Brussels to seize power, while Medea accuses Orbán of relying on Russian help at the ballot boxes to cling on to power.

Police say the fire tore through Le Constellation, the crowded bar where skiers were seeing in the new year at 1.30am local time.
They also confirm that the blaze was not caused by an explosive device.
A number of media outlets report that a birthday candle held too close to the ceiling may have started the fire, although investigations are ongoing.
