They go out, they make this big move for Rantanen, and it seemed at the time like this was going to be them finally getting that star player that they've been missing. They've never had a 100-point player in franchise history. They give up a whole lot to do it. Natchez is a really good player, and he's been awesome since going to Colorado.
And it's made them look really bad with how good he's been since he's been on a line with Nathan McKinnon. It's almost like that helps, right? Rantanen, obviously, six points since the trade, and everything that's gone on around it. Now we don't know if they're going to move him before the deadline. And if they do, it depends on what they get back.
There's been rumors about we don't know exactly what they would get back. But either way, if they move him and they end up not even making a run at the Stanley Cup, they have him on their team for about two weeks, it feels like, right?
