But I always like to end with the spiciest take.
What's your spiciest take on this topic?
That builds very well off my spicy take is the communities doing that are giving up a lot of leverage.
Yep.
We know of a data center development that's being built in the Midwest where the local water treatment plant was way overbuilt and it's only running at 25% capacity.
And so it's costing the locals a lot more to run.
And when the data center comes in, they're going to take up to about 80% of the capacity.
And it's actually going to make water more cost-effective there to treat.
They're also willing to spend some money to invest in upgrades to the treatment plant.
And it's like that kind of thing where why would you pass on the opportunity to have leverage to improve your community with something that's high value density?
You know, why would you just say no versus using that leverage?
And that's where I would really challenge anyone to challenge the local politicians is if a data center wants to move into your neighborhood,
You have an incredible amount of leverage for the next generations of your children and grandchildren.
An amazing opportunity.
If you just say no, they're going to go find someplace else to live.
And once they figure out that your community is not a place for them, there's a solid chance they're going to remember that.
