I think at the end of the day, Donald Trump, anything he says that is nice about the press, I will not believe him.
I don't think we around the table, I think a lot of people watching will not believe him.

The last time he was slated to, I don't know if that is, if he's going to continue to do that.
He wanted to seem a little bit conciliatory.
That is what we were told at the time.
I don't know about this speech.
But at the end of the day, I, when I was president, was sitting with the Associated Press in court,
when Donald Trump and them were going after each other about the president saying they can't say things, right, and trying to control their coverage.
So I will never believe Donald Trump saying nice things about the press isn't who he actually is.
And if someone is able to sneak that into his
into his speech tonight, it won't matter.
Because at the end of the day, the kinds of things that they're doing, the way they're actually operating, their actions and not their words, tell us how Donald Trump thinks about the free press, how he thinks about the people that cover him, and how he thinks about the American people expecting us as their advocates to ask questions and push him.
It doesn't matter.
Right.
Like, I think the point of of all of this.
Right.
The question of whether or not these dinners, you know, people should go to them and all of that.
