But as you said, Jen, the pushing back has begun, I think, in an earnest way.

I think what The New York Times, what Joe Khan said recently about why they're defending their reporters.

There's a video where he talked about his reporting in China and how it mirrored that.

I will also give you a quick story.

When I was president of the WHCA, we were trying to get folks to sign on to the Associated Press letter to support the Associated Press.

The letter wasn't even that bad.

I wrote a lot worse ones before.

So the one was, it was basically like, we support the AP, et cetera, et cetera.

I talked to, over the weekend, lots of leaders of news organizations.

And over and over and over again, people who are much older than me, some of them like to remind me that they have been in news longer than I've been alive, or covering DC longer than I've been alive.

And what they told me over and over again was that they don't want a target on their back.

And that was kind of the energy that was happening at the beginning of last year.

And that has changed a little bit.

So I am hopeful in that way.

But the change has happened because the reporters have continued to stand up and they have never bowed.

It has been the leadership of these news organizations who we have watched and been embarrassed by.

But it's always been the reporters that

Actual reporters, not the MyPillow guy or the people that work for him, but like the actual reporters who are in the rooms, like our colleagues, Von Hilliard and Laura Brown Lopez and all of them who stand up for the freedom of the press and for the public's right to know.

And that's why the leadership is so important.

Yeah, I think he desperately wants to be liked.
