The mother can take care of the infant, but the mother needs something to take care of her.

So that is the doula, the one who helps the uh supports the mother who takes care of the infant.

Now we have doulas of all sorts that support people.

Of course doula actually meant servant.

The infant herself cannot reciprocate the care.

So someone needs to care for the mother who's getting a little bit of labor.

And just caring for an infant who needs all her attention.

So this idea of supporting the

the the new mother.

That idea I thought would be the idea of Julia.

as an extension of public

uh some used academic chair.

And it's the extension of the idea that when we care for another who's unable to care for herself, the carer needs care.

But that caring relationship

is nested in another relationship of support.

but the person who's supporting them is also in a relationship.

That requires

Support.

So it's these nesting relations of dependency.

That I think are the basis of our society.
