So understanding what that, you know, the argument would be something like attention bias or what we call availability bias.
All the information you're getting is from one tiny spot.
Not all the information.
And all the information would show that actually that person has either got no money or they're being paid to do that.
They've had to work for many, many years to get to that level of following and so on and so forth.
But you don't get that.
Your attention is drawn to that one piece of information and that one piece of information forms what we call an anchoring and you cannot get out of it.
So, psychologically, you focus on that.
without looking at everything else.
So what I'm trying to do in the book is to get you to so bring that underlying bias, which you will just do innately, you will just do it to your fore, because if you can start consciously thinking about it, it'll trigger you.
Hang on, is that right?
No, it's not right for me.
Okay, I can stop.
Why did I get caught?
Okay, my attention has been brought to that.
Can I reorientate my view so that my attention isn't caught up on that?
That's the way to look at it.
Again, unfortunately, I don't have a one-size-fits-all for everybody, but if you can start to think like that, you can help yourself.
And that's sort of the only way I can answer that question for you, is to start saying, there is something that I get triggered by with an Instagram follow that catches my attention.
How can I break that attention?
