There's always a potential for escalation.

And we know this.

So if you look at those who perpetrate terrorism, the worst forms of terrorism,

There is a clear correlation between war crimes and terrorism.

But we know that violent men will perpetuate violence in all kinds of ways.

And that escalation is simply not taken seriously enough.

And I think that's what we've seen here.

And it is no surprise that the majority of women...

feel really reluctant to air their political views online or in public.

And they are, you know, given the abuse that women receive, that's not an unreasonable fear.

It should be a completely unreasonable fear.

It should be something that we do not fear.

But we do fear it because there is an augmentation in abuse for women versus men.

if you happen to be a woman from a minoritized background, that abuse is worse.

If you're a black woman, that abuse is even worse.

The whole misogynoir piece of work that Glitch have been leading on, that really just spells out the harms caused when women express opinions, political opinions, controversial opinions in public life, and the backlash that

that they get.

And the real question is, why do they get that backlash?

Because society is not yet keen and confident to accept women as equals, to have those kinds of opinions, those difficult opinions.

And people feel threatened by that.
