They wouldn't give him a job because he's got a criminal record for driving the trains.
There's even New York subway workers who are like, look, we love this guy.
There was a thing where if the drivers were hung over or if they were like, I want to go see my girlfriend today, they would get him to take over.
And then you would get the occasional subway driver who was a grass, who would grass him up to the police.
And there was other subway drivers going, literally just give him a job.
He would turn up to work every day, trains are his life.
Oh, it was so sad.
And then he ends up, he gets an ankle tag that bars him from going on the subway.
And at one point he becomes a volunteer in the transport museum.
Yeah, because they were like, he can do tours and stuff.
They said they got pressured to let him go because he'd done jail time.
Oh, it was terrible.
And then eventually, within a day, he takes his ankle tag off and gets back on the fucking subway.
Yeah.
he said if I could just find the love of a good woman I think I could give up the trains and then he meets this Ecuadorian seamstress on the subway naturally neither of them speak a word to English right but they manage to communicate with each other somehow and they get together and they fall in love
Then he starts sneaking out at night.
And she said, I think you're seeing other women.
And he said, the other women are trains.
And then the next thing he got put in jail.
And that was when she found out that he wasn't a real subway driver because he told her that he was.
