India is one of the most climate-vulnerable countries in the world, and weather disasters like heat waves have become more extreme and more common in recent years.
At one point this year, the 50 hottest cities on the planet were all in India.
The average peak temperature in those cities was 112 degrees Fahrenheit.
So how is this extreme heat affecting people in India and what needs to change to keep people safe?
My next guest has some answers.
Dr. Gulrez Azhar is a physician and researcher who has spent much of his career studying the health impacts of heat waves in India.
