And at first I thought, well this guy, he can't possibly be ready for the exercises.
Um which are these sort of oh, we did it over a couple of months.
And you were though, which was pretty amazing.
Um from your point of view, can you describe that process?
So you're you're preparing for this role playing a seventeenth century Jesuit missionary.
I guess first of all, what attracted you to that role?
And then how did your interest in Jesuit spirituality come about?
Well it's uh I'm gonna give it a little context.
So for people who don't know, the spiritual exercises of Saint Ignatius are a plan for a retreat where you imagine yourself uh in the life of Christ.
It can be done either at a retreat house, um, for thirty days straight or as we did it, what's called the nineteenth annotation, which is in daily life and we met
once a week and you were given these exercises, basically the life of Christ and other sort of points of decision.
So Andrew, the the big question I wanna ask you is can you describe what the experience of making the exercises was like for you and take all the time you want?

describe for people just your practice and what what happened to you.
Yeah, it's very freeing, isn't it?
I remember your um your experiences of the hidden life and how we spent you know, without breaking too many confidences, how we spent time on that 'cause you liked it so much.
You liked the act of Jesus.
Um you know, had you spent much time thinking about Jesus before the exercises?
