When I got older and I had my bike, I went more than every week because you could only take three books out at a time.

And I remember saying to her, who's this?
She goes, that's the author.
What's the author?
The man who wrote the book.
People write books?
I think I thought they were just there like trees.
What do you mean?
People can write books?
Then I thought, I'm going to be a writer.
Because to me, this seemed like such an amazing thing.
Like, I mean, it's not that I had, I certainly had a higher opinion of the human species than I have now, but I didn't have a high enough opinion that I imagined they could write books.
It's like being a god to write a book.
