I do believe that if Andy knew the prices that he would get now, he would have died years before in order to get these prices.
I will tell you that I got paid in art after my first book came out because the taxes were so high.
I used to think it would be so great to make some money.
Then I made money on my first book.
It was a bestseller.
The top federal income tax rate was 70%.
They took all my money.
So then I thought, well, it's not good to make money.
I used to think it would be good to make money.
So I said, don't pay me in money.
Pay me in art.
