and i lived uh in the village at the time and a friend of mine said came to my apartment she said i'm taking you uptown i want to show you something so i said what we got in a cab not my regular form of transportation um and when we started to get further uptown she she gave me like a scarf she said tie this around your eyes so i did we get out of the cab she like leads me to
She said, take the scarf off.
And the whole window was my book.
And I was like so... First, I was shocked.
It didn't seem like a real thing to me.
You know, I would have been thrilled if there was one copy.
But it was a whole window.
And that was like one of the most fantastic moments of my life.
A moment of joy.
A moment of sadness.
There have been many.
There really have been many.
I like...
Like, I could not pick out the saddest moment of my life.
Well, because there are far fewer moments of joy than there are of sadness.
Like, I would say that I was quite, I mean, so many people have died, you know, not just my parents, but I mean, when Toni died, even though I knew.
