So not really the last time in Australia before teenagers' lives got complicated.
Before that absolute beginning of just social media saturating, Instagram, Snapchat, you name it, that world they have to negotiate.
I wanted to write about a group of teenagers that met up in person.
that had to organize things, had to say, be here at this time.
And I wanted to explore those very intense relationships of our teens that are, they just have such an impact on the rest of our lives, no matter how, you know, we get.
So I thought, okay, when, when was the last time?
And I thought, actually, it was kind of that late, that late nineties.
That's
just before it all kind of went crazy.
So yeah, it is a very happy accident that there seems to be this huge nostalgia for the 90s.
And I think I should probably just start telling people that, no, no, I did know that was coming.
You know, it's so interesting, Sarah.
I have lived in Brisbane my whole life.
I've never lived interstate.
I've lived overseas.
I've lived in London and Paris and et cetera.
that I've never actually lived as a home state anywhere else but Queensland and Brisbane.
And it's so interesting to me because Brisbane, for such a long time, and I know it because I lived through it, there was a real cultural cringe about coming from Brisbane.
And I can remember the first time I flew interstate, I would have been like maybe 16.
And when we flew back into Queensland, the pilot said, we're now entering Brisbane.
