There's deep economic ties between the United States and Colombia, and no one's questioning Petro's election.

Whereas in Colombia,

Venezuela, the United States has argued that he was an illegitimate leader because his last election is one that is widely disputed.

That's not the same case in Colombia.

And besides the fact, people close to the administration say that the fact that Petro is going to be leaving office soon means that there will be change coming either way.

The president, by the way, did soften his tone when it came to Colombia after speaking about

He says the Colombian leader gave him a call and that now he's going to be having him over to the White House.

Sure.

So Mexico is another country that the president has said repeatedly he could take land strikes against the cartels specifically.

Now, Claudia Scheinbaum, the country's president, has said she doesn't actually think that Trump's looking at an invasion and she doesn't think that he is serious about that.

But notably, after she even said that, he did raise the idea again.

Some of the experts that I've spoken to have said that they would hope if that's what he's going to do, that he would do that working hand in hand with the Mexican government rather than doing it independently.

Those threats against Canada and making it the 51st state and annexing it haven't come up recently in response to all this military intervention and action that we're talking about, nor has the president's comments about the Panama Canal, which is something else he had said

that he wanted to reclaim.

But Greenland, as we talked about before, has come back around.

So that's not to say that all of these other things couldn't come back up, too.

Well, military intervention by the United States could take a lot of forms.

I mean, that could be strikes specifically against the cartels, as we're talking about in Mexico.
