I think it's also a generational thing.
I think parents parented differently.
They kind of let you get on with your own devices.
I think that's really interesting because he was probably feeling a bit rubbish about himself when he came off the field that other time.
Then you did the nice encouragement thing.
He's like, you know what?
Don't need it today.
Yeah, there is that too.
They need the world to endorse it somehow.
Oh, that makes me feel a bit sad.
It makes me think of that line, I can't remember what movie it is, at the end of it, I think it's some guy and he says, in life I've failed way more than I've succeeded, but blah, blah, blah.
And I remember thinking, I remember watching and going, well, you've obviously had some really positive experiences in your life.
You know, like, you think of entrepreneurs who fail more than they succeed and so forth, but they end up ultimately being successful.
It's like...
Yeah, you really believe in yourself.
And that must make an enormous difference in people's lives.
Or do they just not know themselves?
I don't know.
I'm baffled.
