As long as you recognise that that's a pattern.
Well, that's right.
I suppose.
So how do we unlock ourselves from these habitual responses?
I love adding the compassion in there.
I'm just sort of thinking about the different types of people, the people who you encounter in your work life and your everyday life over the years.
And some of them are people that you, because I think I'm, I mean, not to go into enneagrams, but I think I'm a challenger.
And I don't know where, I haven't actually analysed where that's come from.
And I know that if I can meet other people and go, why aren't you standing up for yourself?
Not to me, by the way.
But why aren't you blah, blah, blah?
Or why have you put up with that?
Or
are you going to do something about that?
And I always, now as I mature, thinking, well, obviously that's the way, maybe that's kept peace in their life for them.
Oh man, I'm trying not to reflect on my parenting as we're speaking.
Or how I was parented.
Because I don't think I had particularly either of those things.
And that's not a criticism, Dad.
As in, I don't really recall.
