We know the deal was coaching peewee hockey.
Stefan Robita worked in player development, kind of came up the ranks, and then, you know, here he is now.
Trevor Letowski spent a lot of time in the Ontario Hockey League and then worked his way up, and there he is.
And now they're going to make a change.
They're going to bring in Derek Lalonde this year, so he's more experienced.
But the fact of the matter is...
we've seen a team recently have success with an inexperienced at the NHL level coaching staff.
So you can't say that it's completely impossible, but I think it kind of puts it in a perspective, maybe what, well, okay, what the budgetary restraints are that has to be factored in.
But outside of that, maybe it's more like, listen,
We're in a different phase.
We're having the Glenn Gullitsons as the assistant coaches and the Mike Sullivans of the world.
There just doesn't make sense for our group.
We're not there.
We need to try and like, yeah, we want to be competitive.
We want to build something.
But the NHL has also become a development league more than it ever has been.
You have young players that are playing in key positions that
relatively inexperienced so you have to be able to resonate with those guys develop those guys and maybe that's you know that's part of it for the Canucks as well where it's just like you know we Claude Julien as an assistant coach doesn't make sense here so let's just go with the young guys and let's let's work hand in hand with these guys and we'll see where we're at in a few years
