And I wanted to write that because, as you will know, having covered it on your podcast, one of the most devastating things about the case was that those who were supposed to know her best and be close, her family members, her own daughter, had spoken so ill of her as almost a justification for what they did.
They had described her as a monster, like a really difficult person to live with, somebody who assaulted their children, her grandchildren, whom
She adored.
And then through the jigs and the reels, when you're covering a big trial like this, you know, you become familiar with family.
Maybe you might be waiting for a cup of coffee in the canteen.
You might get chatting to a family member or whatever.
And friends of hers, Brida Vosser was a person that featured in your podcast.
And she was a friend of Patricia O'Connor's, worked at her in Bowman Hospital.
And she said to me, she said, I can't believe the lies that I'm hearing.
I said, what do you mean?
And she goes, they're just dragging this woman's name through the mud.
She wasn't a monster.
She was a lovely person.
Yes, she had a short fuse, you know, but that didn't make her a horrible person.
She was kind hearted.
She'd do anything for anyone.
She was hardworking.
And I felt like her reputation, I mean, it was bad enough what Kieran Greene did to her in terms of murdering her, dismembering her, like dishonoring her body after death in such a gruesome way.
And then having the gall to drag her name through the mud.
I felt that was just something that needed to be, you know, the record needed to be set straight in relation to that.
