So he said that he brought him to hospital where the wound was cleaned and dressed.
Not in evidence, they didn't, but the jurors did hear some detail in the prosecution's opening address.
Again, that's not evidence.
But they were told that during Garda's questioning, again, he spent some time in hospital after the alleged attack.
He was arrested and questioned by Gardaí.
And during that questioning, we heard that Riad Boonshaker told Gardaí that what happened was a mistake.
He said that he did something but didn't know what it was.
He said he didn't want to kill anyone that day, that he was upset because social welfare had refused his application.
He told Gardaí that he wasn't in his right state of mind, that he didn't mean to do what he did.
Again, they were just things that were said to the jurors in that opening address.
They will hear more evidence and more detail in relation to the Gardaí investigation as the trial goes on.
But the prosecuting barrister today, Mr Finnegan,
said that he believed the evidence that he is going to present with the prosecution team over the coming weeks will prove that Riyad Boushaker was the man who carried out the attack, that he had a knife and that he used it against the children and others.
And as I say, Mr. Boushaker has pleaded not guilty to all eight charges arising from that alleged attack.
The jurors have been told to make themselves available for the next five weeks.
They've also been told that due to an acquired brain injury that was as a result of brain surgery that Riyadh Bhushakar had in 2021 and a head injury that he sustained after members of the public intervened in this alleged attack.
that certain accommodations will have to be made for him in court.
For starters, he has an interpreter and an intermediary in the dock alongside him, just helping him follow proceedings.
And also, as was the case today, regular breaks were taken.
So the jurors, it may not take five weeks, but the jurors were told to make themselves available for up to five weeks, just in case.
