But since you made it about the Oilers to start and then somehow tried to turn it into what the Colorado Avalanche are doing as an absolution to it,
Let me present an alternate reality for you, which is what it just further underlines and highlights how gigantic of a missed opportunity this was for the Oilers.
I mean, the Golden Knights are sitting here with a 3-0 lead in the West Final, and the Oilers and Golden Knights were virtually indistinguishable from each other this year.
They had an almost identical goal differential.
Vegas finished two points ahead.
The Oilers won more games in regulation.
The Oilers had a better home record and the identical number of wins on the road.
Their goals against aren't even really that far off.

So a lot of what we looked at this season was, okay, win the division, get through into the final four and see if you can give yourself a puncher's chance against the best team in hockey.
And now the Oilers didn't even make it to face the Golden Knights.
Yeah, and so I don't look at the avalanche today and say wrong players heard at the wrong time.
