We climbed up the side of the hill.
About 200 yards east of the road, we came to a small hole.
Behind this opening was a shallow natural cave.
Frank and I crawled inside.
The cave was about eight feet long and four feet wide.
The boy we were looking for was not there, but there was plenty of evidence that this was where he'd been living.
A sleeping bag was rolled up in one corner.
Beside it was a small supply of canned food.
We found 10 or 12 notebooks filled with handwritten mathematical equations and some 50 textbooks on advanced physics or higher mathematics.
He sure believes in making use of the public library.
