um brilliant philosopher down at U T Austin, Christian, wrote a book years ago called What We Can't Not Know and also The Revenge of Conscience.
And in the revenge of conscience he said that if you continue to suppress your conscience, what you wind up doing
is you wind up creating a situation where your conscience will scream at you and in order to shut it up, you have to
you basically have to commit the sin again.
Like for example, he would say the psychology of this for women that have had an abortion, sometimes when they get pregnant again, they say to themselves, You killed your last child, you don't have a right to this one.
And they abort again and they abort again.
They're holding this down and they in if they don't repent, they wind up continually going down that road.
And he calls it the revenge of conscience.
It's psychologically very dark.
And some of that might be at play here.
